Issue: One box kept deep inside the vehicle. Colleagues reluctant to retrieve it.
Rationale: Kept so deep in, no one would steal it.
My stand: Retrieve it before we leave.
Rationale: Store not counted beforehand. Paperwork not properly done for that day. If there's any discrepancy, the issue of the box's location during the weekend may become significant,, possibly resulting in charges of insubordination and mismanagement.
Decision: Insist on doing so.
Colleagues still very eager to leave. Measure taken: Inform Wes first. Luckily he managed to get the guys moving to retrieve the box. Soon after it was done, i noticed that many had already changed into cv and leaving the accoms block already. My attire then: smart-4. Real sad that there are some who didn't care. So much for friendship. At least a handful helped out. But not without some intervention from Wes of course.
My Log Spec doesn't support me. At least that's the impression he gives me frequently. I hope i'm wrong, but sadly i'm not convinced otherwise thus far. I try to ensure nothing screws up. Yet despite all efforts made, people, or rather so called "friends", may not be willing to cooperate. And in the event that i made a mistake and things were to go wrong, i would expect that they either stay aside, ignore you and carry out with their leisure/work activities, or they simply blame you for negligence. Your superiors may not be any better.
I hope nothing goes wrong. I'll not give up on trying to make things right, for as long as i can.
