Where to find that extra strength in life?

When one is feeling down, he needs to find strength from his life. Sometimes this strength can come from the most unexpected corners.

Out of the blue, Dong wrote me a testimonial today. It reminded me of my past, of those short but happy, cheerful shared moments in life. It reminded me of my present, how we need to act our age, to be able to present more professional mature image when necessary, yet being able to let our hair down and go party anytime. It's all part of growing up. Time and tide waits for no man. All of us will grow up, and there's no turning back.

Acceptance paves the way for action. Action to initiate a re-think of our life philosophy. Some call this re-orientation - to review and reset priorities.

Inspired.

Loose threads:
Mixing around with 19-year-olds, having fun is one matter. Communicating effectively with 21-year-olds and talking about our passion in life is another.

Getting over it

This kitty is so weird. "Don't be negative when i'm so eager," Perhaps I am the one to blame for the Cold War. Well, maybe I should use "busy with study" as an excuse. Not an excuse perhaps. It is a legitimate answer.

I need to stay focused. Goals can be set. But the end result cannot be guaranteed. Better control over one's actions enhances probability of success. I need to achieve this before it's too late. Stop rambling.

Stop building walls. Build bridges. Air bridge?

Forget it. You know your destiny.

Axel mode!

Inspirational Talks

Dr Kua Harn Wei. the first Singapore double Ironman, and Miss Eunice Olsen came to SMU for lunchtime talks today. Dr Kua talked about the lessons he learnt from triathlons, Bobby Fischer, and to me, the most inspiring part was about jugglers. Jugglers deal with many balls, and the key lies in holding on to one ball and letting go of the other, at the right time. Also, Dr Kua talked about finding links between the tasks that we do, such that we can make use of one activity to improve our performance in the other.

Ms Eunice Olsen talked about her community service experience at TPGH, AG Home, Cambodia etc. She admits that while community service will not make one rich, she was satisfied with being able to get by in life. No need for condominum, sports car etc...

An enriching event =P
